GIEF provides nearly $33,000 to support the elementary school robotics program.

GIEF is proud to announce a grant of $32,673.33 to support the elementary school robotics program, providing for the purchase of the latest equipment necessary to support this program at Grosse Ile Elementary. The grant allows the coordinator, Charlotte Stellini, to increase participation in the Future Ready Learners Robotics Program by including 2nd grade students, helping them develop collaboration, creativity, and real-world problem-solving skills.

The grant will ensure equitable access to high-quality STEM resources for all learners.

Students in grades 1–5 will design, build, and program robotics solutions connected to classroom content and Future Ready Learners competition themes. First and second grade students will develop foundational coding and engineering skills to prepare for robotics participation, while grades 3–5 will engage in advanced problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation challenges. The program will serve diverse learners, including students with limited access to technology-based enrichment, helping close opportunity gaps and promote STEM confidence.
