Apply for a Grant

GIEF supports life long learning for all islanders. We do this by financially supporting creative and exemplary educational opportunities through the Grosse Ile Township Schools and the Community. Any Grosse Ile Township School employee or non-profit community group in Grosse Ile may apply for a grant that furthers this mission.

We offer three different types of grants to the schools and community: the Great Ideas Teacher Grant, Foundation Grants, and Community Grants, each of which is described below.

This grant is exclusively for teachers of Grosse Ile to provide an enhanced, innovative learning experience or training that generally cannot be supported by Grosse Ile Township Schools’ budgets.

Review and Approval Process

All grant proposals will be vetted by the Grant Committee to verify that it meets Grosse Ile Educational Foundation guidelines and will then be presented to the Foundation Board for formal approval. Applicants will be notified within two weeks of the Board’s decision. Once a grant is approved, the recipient must complete the grant contract found at the link below.

Funding for subsequent grants will not be considered pending the Foundation’s receipt of outstanding Grant Performance Reports. You can complete the grant performance report by clicking the link below. A sample grant performance report is available here.

For any questions and/or assistance in the application process, contact our Grant Coordinator, Andrea O’Donnell, at (248) 915-8880 or aodonnell0610@gmail.com.
