Grosse Ile Educational Foundation Awards $16,663 Grant to Upgrade Grosse Ile High School Marching Band Drumline
The Grosse Ile Educational Foundation (GIEF) has announced a $16,663 grant to Grosse Ile Township Schools to fund the purchase of brand-new drumline equipment for the Grosse Ile High School Marching Band.
The grant will provide the high school percussion section with complete, modern marching battery equipment, including updated snare drums, multi-tenor drums, bass drums, lightweight ergonomic carriers, protective field cases, and necessary accessories.
For years, the Grosse Ile High School Marching Band has performed at football games, district parades, and competitive festivals. However, ongoing wear and tear on aging percussion instruments had made routine maintenance increasingly difficult and costly. The new equipment will significantly improve sound quality, reduce physical strain on student musicians, and ensure the ensemble can perform to their best abilities.
This award reflects GIEF’s continued commitment to enriching the arts and providing students across the district with creative, hands-on learning experiences that exceed typical school budget constraints.
