The Grosse Ile Educational Foundation wrapped up the 2017 fundraiser, The Hawaiian Bash! It was a great success. Guests were greeted with a lei from Shore to Shore Credit Union and a pair of sunglasses donated by the Kobiljak Family. Polynesian dancers entertained the guests as they ate a Hawaiian-inspired meal provided by TV Deli & Diner. Later in the evening, there was dancing to live music by High Tide. Oysters donated by the Formentin Family were served in various forms. There was also a signature drink presented in a color-changing cup provided by Public Service Credit Union at a custom-made Tiki Bar, by Charlie Lowler that was later auctioned off that evening.
Along with the $2500 Raffle, there were also thousands of dollars in prize packages donated by families at Parke Lane Elementary School, Meridian Elementary School, GI Middle School, GI High School’s DCTC, Wired Devils & Michelle Ivankovics, also donated items along with GI Businesses and others in our community.
Money raised at the Hawaiian Bash will be used to fund educational grants in the Grosse Ile schools and other non-profit organizations in our community. GIEF would like to thank all those who sponsored, donated to, volunteered, and/or attended the Hawaiian Bash!
